Corporate Gaming League Afterwork.gg Announces Fall/Winter 2021 Season

Colleagues across the country are forming teams to represent their employers in head-to-head clashes against other companies in competitive video games.

Following a successful first season in May/June 2021, Afterwork.gg returns in October with their Fall/Winter 2021 Season event line-up.

Afterwork.gg invites players to rally under their company’s banner to bond with colleagues and make new professional connections through a shared passion for video gaming.

Their after-work gaming leagues launched as a digital alternative to the office 5-a-side football team as the UK battled through its third lockdown in early 2021.

Fast-paced and action-packed, their newest season features a trio of exciting tournaments across returning favourite Call of Duty: Warzone, and two new entrants: 3v3 Rocket League and 4v4 Splitgate. All three events will take place Mon-Wed evenings from 25th October to 19th November and will be broadcast live on Twitch.

During the first season, 22 teams from 15 companies across the digital and creative sector battled it out to be crowned champion, raising £2,300 for charity and resulting in over 28,000 minutes of adrenaline-fueled gameplay.

Charities including Muscular Dystrophy UK, The National Autistic Society, Cancer Research UK and the Alzheimer’s Society benefited from donations made by winning teams.

“We were thrilled by the response to our first season. The community feel, banter and camaraderie we saw showcased everything that’s great about gaming.” said Giorgio Cassella, Afterwork.gg Founder.

He added: “As the games progressed, players developed their confidence and teams became more coordinated and collaborative - essential skills for the game AND for the workplace.”

The latest season boasts a minimum cash prize pool of £3000 to be won for competing organisations chosen charities.

“I’m so thankful for the support shown by the community so far, and cannot wait to welcome more players into the fold through in Season 2!”

It costs £200 for a team to enter. Spaces are limited and filling fast.
